_Version dated 4 July 2026 (version No. 2026-07-04). The version in force at the time of your visit applies. The official version of this document is in Armenian (hy); the Russian and English versions are published for convenience. In the event of any discrepancy between versions, the Armenian version prevails._
In brief
When you open the mist website, we use small pieces of technical data stored in your browser — cookies and browser local storage. Most of these exist solely to make the store work: to remember the items in your shopping cart and your fitting cart, to keep you signed in, and to remember your chosen language and your selection in this very banner. This same technical data also helps us keep the website secure and protect it — and you — from fraud, abuse and automated access. Data of this kind is always on: without it the website cannot serve you or remain secure, and it does not require separate consent.
Analytics — and analytics alone — we enable only with your consent. You decide whether to allow it, and you may change your decision at any time. We use no hidden tricks or pre-ticked boxes: "Decline" is just as accessible and prominent as "Accept".
There are no advertising or marketing cookies, no social-media trackers and no ad retargeting on the website.
This document explains which technologies we use, why, for how long, and how to manage them. The rules governing automated access to the website (bots, scraping, automated data collection) and other technical interference are set out separately in the Website Terms of Use; the legal grounds, retention periods and data recipients are described in detail in the Privacy Policy.
What cookies and browser storage are
A cookie is a small text file that a website saves in your browser so that, on your next visit, it can "recognise" your browser and, for example, recall your settings. Alongside cookies, modern websites use browser local storage (localStorage), which likewise holds small amounts of data on your device but, unlike cookies, is not by default sent automatically to the server with every request.
On the mist website, most features run on browser local storage rather than on server-side cookies. Genuine cookies are set only by our web analytics, and only after you have given consent. For simplicity, in this notice we refer to cookies, local storage and similar technologies (pixels, tags, session identifiers, security tokens) collectively as "cookies", and we point out the differences where this matters.
Cookies and local storage do not themselves run programs or "infect" a device. However, some of the data they hold may relate to you as a visitor, which is why we handle it responsibly, process it to the minimum extent necessary, and ask for your consent where consent is required.
The basis on which we do this
The Republic of Armenia has no separate "cookie law". The requirement to obtain consent derives from the general regime for the protection of personal data: the processing of data relating to a visitor is permitted on a lawful basis — in particular, in order to provide a requested service or with the person's consent.
We use strictly necessary and functional data in browser storage on the basis that, without it, we cannot provide you with the service you have requested or keep it secure: to display the website, fill the cart, submit a fitting request, place and support an order, remember your basic settings and your own choice in the consent banner, and protect the website, your account and your order against fraud, abuse and automated interference. Data of this kind is necessary for the operation and security of the website and does not require consent. Its basis is the provision of the requested service and ensuring the security of processing, and not "legitimate interest" (a basis that the law of the Republic of Armenia does not provide for).
Analytics cookies we set only after you have given your consent. Consent is freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous; you give it by an affirmative act (by clicking "Accept" in the banner), not by inaction or a pre-ticked box. We do not use or rely on "legitimate interest" as a basis for analytics. You may change your decision at any time — how to do so is described below in the section "How to manage cookies".
A record of your choice in the banner (consent or refusal, and the date of the choice) is stored in your browser and in our technical logs, and may be used as evidence of whether analytics cookies were enabled and on what basis. The manner and retention period of such a record are described in the Privacy Policy.
The technologies we use
1. Strictly necessary and functional — always on
These ensure the basic operation, usability and security of the website. They are stored in your browser (mainly in local storage) and, to the extent necessary, in our technical logs. They do not require consent; they cannot be disabled through the banner, but they can be cleared or blocked in your browser's own settings — in which case some store features will stop working.
What they do:
- store the items in your shopping cart and in your fitting cart (Try at Home);
- store your list of favourites and recently viewed models;
- remember your chosen interface language (hy / ru / en);
- remember your choice in the cookie banner itself, so we need not ask again on every visit;
- control the display of the subscription pop-up (so that it is not shown intrusively);
- maintain your session and your sign-in to your personal account;
- ensure the security, integrity and stability of forms and of the secure connection; help detect and prevent fraud, fake orders and other abuse of the service, recognise automated (robotic) access, protect the cart, the fitting cart (Try at Home) and checkout against misuse, and apply technical protection measures (for example, rate-limiting requests and protection against overload and automated guessing).
This data is processed to the minimum extent necessary, solely for the operational and security purposes listed above; we do not use it for advertising or profiling. The legal basis, retention period and other details of such processing are set out in the Privacy Policy.
2. Analytics — only with your consent
These give us anonymised statistics: which pages are popular, where visitors come from, and where they run into difficulties. This helps us improve the catalogue, the speed and the usability of the website.
For analytics we use Google Analytics 4. This tool is activated only when the seller enables it, and it operates in Consent Mode v2: by default everything is denied, and analytics cookies are set only after you have given explicit consent in the banner. Until consent is given, no analytics cookies are set. Google Analytics processes data on servers that may be located outside Armenia — see below and the Privacy Policy for more on cross-border transfers.
3. Marketing and advertising — we do not use these
As at the date of this version, the mist website has no advertising cookies, no retargeting and no advertising pixels. We do not embed social-media trackers (including Meta pixels or widgets). The pages contain only ordinary links to our WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook accounts: by following them, you are taken to third-party platforms that act as independent controllers under their own policies. These platforms may set their own cookies on their own initiative; mist does not control and is not responsible for their processing of data. Should we decide in the future to use marketing technologies, we will update this notice and request your consent in advance.
Third-party services and cross-border transfers
Some website features are provided by external services. Some of them may use their own technical cookies or process data on servers located outside Armenia (in the United States and other countries), which entails a cross-border transfer of data. We transfer only the minimum amount necessary; the basis is the performance of the contract with you and/or your consent.
- Cloudinary — storage and fast delivery of product images (CDN). May use technical cookies to serve photographs correctly.
- Google Analytics 4 — web analytics (only with your consent; see item 2).
- Resend (with SMTP as a backup channel) — an email-sending service: order confirmations and notifications and, subject to separate consent, our newsletter.
- Google (Gmail) — the seller's working email, which receives notifications and requests containing order data.
- Railway — hosting of the website and database.
- PayLink Ameria / Ameria — acceptance of payment by link. Card payment takes place on Ameria's secure side; your card details are not collected or stored by the mist website.
Resend, Gmail, Railway and Ameria process data predominantly on their own side and generally do not set cookies in your browser during ordinary browsing of the catalogue. In respect of its own processing, each of the third-party platforms listed acts under its own policies, which mist does not control. A full list of data recipients, the purposes of transfer and details of cross-border transfers are set out in our Privacy Policy.
Retention periods
Strictly necessary and functional data is retained for the duration of the session or for as long as is needed for the relevant website feature to work, unless a longer period is specified in your browser settings or in the feature itself. Technical records relating to security and to the prevention of fraud and abuse are retained no longer than is necessary for the said security purposes and for the protection of our rights in the event of a dispute; their composition and retention periods are set out in the Privacy Policy.
Analytics cookies are retained for the period set by the analytics service used, but no longer than is needed for analytics purposes; you may withdraw your consent and delete these cookies through your browser at any time.
How to manage cookies
Through the consent banner. On your first visit — before any analytics is enabled — you are shown a banner with two equivalent, equally prominent buttons: "Accept" and "Decline". The banner governs analytics only: strictly necessary and functional data is needed for the operation and security of the website and cannot be disabled through the banner. Until you click "Accept", no analytics cookies are set; clicking "Decline" leaves them disabled. Your choice is saved so that we need not ask on every visit.
How to change your decision. Analytics operates solely with your consent, so you may withdraw it at any time through your browser: delete the data saved by the website — the record of your choice and, if analytics was enabled, its cookies. On your next visit the banner will appear again, and you will be able to select "Decline". How to delete this data in a particular browser is described below. You may also write to us (contact details at the end of this document) and we will help. Anonymised statistics collected previously are processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Through your browser. You may at any time delete stored cookies and local-storage data and block them in your browser settings — usually under "Privacy" or "Site settings". Please note: if you clear or block strictly necessary data, some store features (the cart, the fitting cart, sign-in, checkout) will stop working properly, and certain protective mechanisms may restrict access to the website until normal browser operation is restored. Instructions for popular browsers — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge — are available in their help sections.
What we do NOT do
- We do not use cookies to establish your identity without your knowledge.
- We do not enable analytics before obtaining your consent.
- We do not use advertising pixels, retargeting or social-media trackers.
- We do not use pre-ticked boxes or "dark patterns" that nudge you into consenting.
- We do not sell cookie data to third parties.
_For the avoidance of doubt: the technical data needed for security and fraud prevention (see item 1) does not relate to, and is not used for, advertising or profiling._
Relationship between this notice and the Privacy Policy
Cookies and browser storage may contain data relating to you as a visitor. Exactly how we process personal data — what we collect, why, on what legal basis, to whom and where we transfer it, how long we retain it, and what rights you have (access, rectification, blocking, erasure, withdrawal of consent, as well as recourse to the Personal Data Protection Agency of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia and judicial protection) — is described in detail in our Privacy Policy. The processing of technical data for security and fraud-prevention purposes is disclosed there as well (purpose, legal basis, retention period, minimisation). We recommend reading the Policy together with this notice.
Changes
We may update this notice — for example, when we add new services or change the set of technologies used. We may add, replace or disable strictly necessary and functional technologies (including security and anti-fraud technologies) where this is required for the operation of the website, its security or compliance with the law; because such technologies do not require consent by law, changing them likewise does not require consent to be sought afresh. Any changes affecting technologies for which consent is required (for example, analytics or future marketing) take effect only after we have obtained your new consent. The current version, with its number and date, is always available on this page and applies in the version in force at the time of your visit.
